Solution-focused Hypnotherapy
What is solution-focused hypnotherapy Solution-focused hypnotherapy combines brief talking therapy and trance to help you achieve your goals and be the person you want to be. Trance is very natural and we go into trance several times a day. Trance is a way of heightening awareness in our subconscious mind – the part that controls our emotional behaviour. In this state the mind is open to suggestion so we can be more open to making the type of positive change we want to see. In case you’re wondering, solution-focused hypnotherapy is completely safe. You’ll feel comfortable and relaxed but will always be fully in control and aware of your actions throughout. You’ll never be made to do anything that you don’t want to do.
How can solution-focused hypnotherapy help me This form of hypnotherapy can increase your awareness so that you recognise self-limiting thought patterns and behaviours. Hypnotherapy can improve your sleep patterns and reduce your feelings of anxiety or stress. This will empower you to make the positive changes you want to see and help you to do you – with confidence. See the change you want to be! The sessions will help you to focus on your goals and start to make the changes that you desire. There is no pressure from me to do anything – you’ll be in a calm, relaxed state of mind and the decisions come from you. There’s a long list of famous people who have used hypnotherapy in sport, entertainment and business. It could easily work for you too. What can I expect in a session The first session is the initial consultation. Here, I’ll explain my methods a little more and tell you why solution-focused hypnotherapy works. I’ll talk you through the workings of the mind so that you fully understand how the process can help you. I’ll need to gather some information on you and what it is that you need support with – this is all fully confidential. After the IC you book up for future sessions if you’d like to and I will send you a copy of my mp3 recording, which will familiarise you with hypnosis and help you to get into a relaxed state between appointments. Subsequent sessions will be in the format of brief, talking therapy – nothing intrusive – followed by 30 minutes of relaxing hypnosis. Generally, people need 8-12 sessions of hypnotherapy to help them see lasting change. Phobias may need fewer sessions.
